About the company

Origer S.A. is a family business run by the third and fourth generation, with more than 110 employees. Over the past 74 years we have grown from a former mirror manufacturer into a modern industrial company. Our core business lies in the lightweight construction of windows, doors and façades as well as in glass construction. In 2015 we developed the new service area "Origer Maintenance" and serve, with our maintenance and repair service, mainly commercial clients. Our portfolio includes both smaller orders and extensive large-scale projects in the professional sector. As a reliable and solution-oriented partner, we seek the right product for every customer enquiry.

About the company

Our history – from mirror maker to industrial company

1948
1948

Purchase of the "Miroiterie des Ardennes" by Jean Origer and his wife Sophie Cler in Ettelbruck.

1955
1955

The son Camille takes over the management.

1963
1963

After Camille's death, his younger brother Pierre took over the business. A trained baker, he had decided to begin an apprenticeship as a glazier. After qualifying as a master glazier, he continued running the company with his wife.

1979
1979

The business areas grew and the workshop in Ettelbruck became too small. The company decided on a location in Schieren, along the railway line.

1988
1988

Pierre Origer passed away and the business was continued by his wife. Their son Raoul had by then progressed far enough in his training to support his mother the following year. Business flourished and the company was therefore converted into a public limited company. On Raoul's advice, a second line of business was added: lightweight construction.

2015
2015

Tom Origer joined the family business in the 4th generation and devoted himself to building up a further business area: "Origer Maintenance".

Simplifying processes

Simplifying processes

Rapid company growth brings challenges, which is why we increasingly focus internally on process optimisation and digitalisation. Our goals are to ease work processes, reduce paper and relieve our employees.

Digitalisation already begins with project planning. Every workstation in production has been equipped with a terminal to view all tasks and plans for processing. The warehouse uses a PDA device to document all incoming and outgoing goods. Our administration is fully digitalised: quotes, invoices and orders can be recorded, processed and created entirely digitally. Through improved interfaces we were able to optimise our workflows with accounting, automating processes such as archiving. Thanks to our Maintenance app, all technicians and fitters are equipped with their own tablet or smartphone, which greatly eases the formal and organisational part of their work and makes them more flexible.

The way we work

The way we work

Different projects mean a varied and constantly changing working environment. It is important to us that every project is handled with a structured and successful working method.

When a new customer enquiry arrives, it is forwarded to the responsible technician. After the first customer contact and clarification of the need, an appointment for measuring is arranged. Before and during the measuring appointment, all required data are recorded and documented (customer data, material, dimensions, tools, etc.). The customer then receives an individual offer. After order confirmation, all required materials are ordered and the product is scheduled into production. The received goods are checked by the warehouse staff and passed on to the fitters. On the agreed delivery date, installation takes place at the customer's site.
